Forty-six years ago a group of women from the northern suburbs — all who enjoyed crafting and an evening away from home — gathered to form the Night Owls Guild of Children’s Hospital Association. Known for their unique and beautifully crafted items, their crafts were widely sought after at the CHA Bazaars for many years.
Throughout the years they have raised funds for CHA through the sales of poinsettias, cookbooks and spring plants. Their talents were called upon to set up silent auctions for “Author! Author!”, the American Craft Council and the CHA Galas. For many years the Night Owls also helped with the Great Clips Golf event. Their Fall Soup Supper called “Soups on for Kids”, remains their popular current fundraiser, and they are always available to lend a helping hand to other guilds and CHA projects when called upon. The Night Owls have made lasting friendships among one another and continue to be a vital part of CHA.
